In this article, I am going to talk about this wireless motion sensor alarm system that I got from Amazon (photo 1). For the one that I get, it has the brand name “WJLing” on it, but when you shop on Amazon, you can see many different sellers selling the same thing under different brands. For my order, it comes with one receiver and two motion sensors. The motion sensors also come with hardware that you need, if you want to mount it on the wall. But for me, I like to install it by my driveway. So I know whatever someone is getting too close or passing by. Depending on who you're ordering from, you may get different number of sensors.

Now, let’s talk about the motion sensors first (photo 2). It is not waterproof, if you plan to use it outdoor, you better protect it from the rain. The unit can be powered by 3 AAA batteries, or you can connect a power source to the mirco USB port over here (photo 3). The “on” and “off” switch is right over here (photo 4).

Now let’s talk about the receiver (photo 5). The receiver has LED light in the front, you can plug it directly into your wall outlet. Another option is that you can use the micro USB port on the side and connect a power source to it, such as a power bank. The receiver and the sensors have a working range of 100 meters, give or take, depending on what you have in between them. It has two alert options to choose from, and 38 chime to choose. The first alert option is flashing light only, the second option is flashing light and playing the chime at the same time.

To select the alert mode, you turn it to the side, the first one over here (photo 6)is where you can select the alarm mode, here you can change the chime (photo 7), and then adjust the sound volume here (photo 8). This system is expandable, so feel free to get more sensors and add to your system if you want to.

Pros:

I have been using this system for over a year now, and I really like it. It is lightweight, it’s portable, and the system auto pair itself very quickly. I can bring it with me when I go camping or any off-grid locations. All you need to have is a reliable power source such as the Jackery power station or a large capacity power bank. It will last for a long time because it uses very little power.

Cons:

This motion alarm system is not waterproof, and it’s an offline system. Meaning that you will not get push notification to your phone if your motion alarm system is ever triggered. If you want an online system, you’re better off using the Ring alarm system which I will do a review in the near future.

Conclusion:

For me personally, I really like the system, because it is easy to install, it’s affordable and it’s portable. It is true that it is not waterproof but I have been using it outdoor to monitor my driveway for over a year now. And it works fine, I live in the northeast, the system have withstand 95+ degree Fahrenheit and freezing temperature. As you can see from the picture (photo 9), I only protect my sensor by putting it in the space that’s provided by the cement block.
